Replacement Kitchen Doors in Suffolk

The Brief

The kitchen itself was working perfectly well. The layout suited the room and the carcasses were in good order. What had dated was the part everybody actually sees: the doors and the drawer fronts. Replacing only the visible components changes the character of a room completely while keeping the units already in place, at a fraction of the upheaval of a new kitchen.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Surveyed the cabinets: Before anything was ordered we checked the carcasses. Any that need repair are flagged up front, so there are no surprises on installation day and nothing new gets hung on something that is not up to it.
• Measured every opening individually: The doors are made to measure for the existing cabinets rather than bought off a shelf, which is what keeps the gaps consistent and the lines straight across the run.
• Helped choose the style and colour: There are 36 Bella styles and 127 colours and finishes to work through, so we narrowed it down with the owners rather than handing over a brochure and leaving them to it.
• Fitted the new doors and drawer fronts: Everything was hung, aligned and adjusted so the doors sit square and close cleanly, which is the difference between new doors and new doors that look like they were always meant to be there.
• Matched the surrounding woodwork where needed: Where new doors sit against existing frames, end panels or plinths, we can spray those elements to match the new doors, so the whole kitchen reads as one piece rather than two.
• Cleared up and handed over: The old doors were taken away and the owners were left with written aftercare guidance.

The Result

Same cabinets, same layout, and a kitchen that no longer looks like the one that was there before. Because only the visible components changed, the cupboards stayed where they were and the room kept working through the process. It is the most direct way to move a kitchen on in style when the units underneath still have plenty of life in them.
