About The Premiere Kitchen Painting Co.

Specialist finishing experience, brought into your kitchen

About The Premiere Kitchen Painting Co.

The Premiere Kitchen Painting Co. grew out of our established decorating and specialist finishing business.

Over the years, we saw more and more homeowners being quoted tens of thousands of pounds for a new kitchen, when in many cases the existing one was still solid and had years of life left in it. We knew there was a better option.

By developing our own systems, refining our preparation methods and investing in professional spray finishing products and equipment, we were able to deliver kitchens that look and feel like new for a fraction of the cost of replacing them.

As the business grew, we also recognised that not every customer wanted to keep their existing doors. Some loved the layout of their kitchen but wanted a completely different style. That's why we introduced our replacement door service, allowing customers to completely change the look of their kitchen without the expense and disruption of a full replacement.

Today, we offer a complete kitchen transformation service. Whether it's a professional respray, replacement doors, or a combination of the two, we can tailor the solution to suit your kitchen, your style and your budget. Our aim is simple: to help you achieve the kitchen you want in the most practical and cost-effective way possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Is the paint durable?

Yes. We use a professional furniture grade coating that's specifically designed for kitchens and joinery. We also add a specialist crosslinker, which chemically hardens the coating to provide excellent durability and resistance to everyday wear. Once fully cured, the finish is designed to withstand the demands of a busy kitchen, including regular cleaning, moisture and everyday use. With the correct care, your transformed kitchen will continue looking great for many years.

How long does it take?

Most kitchen transformations are completed within 5 working days although this can vary depending on the size of the kitchen and the work involved. Typically, we'll remove the doors and drawer fronts at the start of the project and spray them in our dedicated workshop, while the fixed elements are prepared and sprayed in your home. This approach keeps disruption to a minimum and allows us to achieve a high-quality, factory-style finish. If your project also includes replacement doors, new panels, worktops or other upgrades, we'll let you know the expected timescale before work begins.

What's the difference between spray painting and hand painting a kitchen?

The biggest difference is the finish. Spray painting produces a smooth, even, factory style finish with no brush or roller marks. It also provides excellent coverage on detailed doors, mouldings and edges, giving a consistent appearance across the entire kitchen. Hand painting can still achieve a good result, but brush and roller texture is usually visible, particularly in certain lighting and on darker colours. At The Premiere Kitchen Painting Co., we professionally spray all removable doors and drawer fronts in our dedicated workshop, while the fixed elements are sprayed in your home wherever possible. This allows us to achieve the highest quality finish with minimal disruption. If you're looking for a kitchen that looks like it's just come from the factory, spraying is the closest finish you can achieve without replacing it.

Will my kitchen be out of action?

No. Although we do require full access to your kitchen while we're working, we leave it functional at the end of each day wherever possible. You'll still be able to use your sink, cooker and fridge, so you won't be without a working kitchen during the transformation. That said, it's also a great excuse to treat yourself to a takeaway or two while we do the hard work!

Do I need to empty all of my cupboards?

No. We've developed systems that allow you to leave the contents of your cupboards in place while we carry out the transformation. As we don't spray the inside of your cupboards, the internals remain unaffected. The only thing we ask is that you remove any everyday essentials you'll need for a couple of days, such as plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs, tea and coffee, and other frequently used items. We recommend keeping these together in a separate area so they're easy to access while we're working. This helps keep disruption to a minimum while allowing us to work safely and efficiently.

What guarantee do you offer?

We take great pride in the quality of our workmanship and use professional coatings and proven preparation systems to achieve a long-lasting finish. That's why all of our kitchen transformations are backed by a 2-year workmanship guarantee, giving you complete peace of mind. We'll also provide you with simple aftercare guidance to help keep your kitchen looking its best. With the correct care and maintenance, your newly transformed kitchen should provide many years of enjoyment.

Can I change the style of my kitchen doors?

Yes. Whether you'd like to replace flat doors with a classic shaker style, introduce a modern handleless look or combine painted and wood effect finishes, we can help you completely change the appearance of your kitchen while keeping your existing cabinet layout.

What if I can't decide between spraying and replacement doors?

That's exactly what we're here for. We'll assess your existing kitchen, listen to what you'd like to achieve and recommend the option that offers the best result. Sometimes a professional respray is all that's needed, sometimes replacement doors are the better choice, and often a combination of both creates the perfect transformation. Our advice is always based on what's best for your kitchen, not on selling a particular service.

Will replacement doors fit my existing kitchen?

In most cases, yes. We supply made to measure replacement doors that are manufactured specifically for your existing cabinets. During our survey, we'll carefully measure everything to ensure the new doors fit perfectly and advise if any cabinets would benefit from repair or replacement before installation.

Can I combine replacement doors with a kitchen respray?

Absolutely, and it's one of the things that makes us different. Many customers choose to replace their doors to achieve a completely new style, while we professionally spray the existing cabinet frames to match perfectly. The result is a seamless finish that looks like a brand-new fitted kitchen. Because we offer both services, we're able to recommend the best combination for your kitchen rather than trying to fit every project into a single solution. Our goal is always to give you the best possible transformation, not simply to sell one particular service.

Should I choose replacement doors or a kitchen respray?

It depends on what you'd like to change. If you love the style of your existing doors and simply want a new colour, a professional respray is often the perfect solution. However, if you'd like to completely change the style of your kitchen, replacement doors are usually the better option. They allow you to achieve a completely new look while keeping your existing cabinets, making them a cost-effective alternative to a full kitchen replacement. During your consultation, we'll explain both options and recommend the one that best suits your kitchen and your budget.

Why do so many customers choose replacement doors?

For many homeowners, the cabinets are still in excellent condition, the only thing that's dated is the door style. Replacing the doors, drawer fronts and other visible components completely transforms the appearance of the kitchen while avoiding the expense, mess and disruption of a full replacement. It also gives you far greater choice, with a wide range of modern and traditional door styles, colours and finishes available. It's one of the smartest ways to achieve the look of a brand-new kitchen while making the most of what you already have.

Should I replace my worktop or have it refinished?

It depends on the condition of your existing worktop and the look you're trying to achieve. If your worktop is structurally sound and you're happy with the layout, refinishing can completely transform its appearance at a fraction of the cost of replacement. If you're looking for a different profile, material or layout, a replacement worktop may be the better option. We'll always recommend the solution that offers the best long-term result.

Can you refinish laminate worktops?

Yes. Many laminate worktops can be professionally refinished, giving them a completely new appearance without the expense and disruption of replacing them. We'll assess your existing worktops during our survey and let you know whether refinishing is the right option for your kitchen.

Can I combine a worktop transformation with replacement doors or a kitchen respray?

Absolutely. In fact, this is one of the most popular ways to achieve a complete kitchen transformation. Whether you choose replacement doors, a professional kitchen respray, worktop refinishing or a brand-new worktop, every element is designed to work together. We can also update handles, end panels, plinths and splashbacks, creating a kitchen that looks completely new without the cost and disruption of a full replacement. Because we offer all of these services, we can recommend the best combination for your kitchen, your style and your budget, giving you a truly bespoke transformation.

How long does a worktop transformation take?

Refinishing an existing worktop is usually done within the same visit as the rest of your kitchen transformation. A replacement worktop needs templating first, so it is normally fitted a week or two after survey. We will give you exact dates before anything starts.

Do you remove and dispose of the old worktop?

Yes. If you are having a replacement worktop fitted we take the old one away and dispose of it responsibly, and we leave the kitchen clean and tidy at the end of each day.

How long have you been trading?

Jamie has worked in decorating and specialist finishing for almost 30 years and has run his own business for nearly 25 of them. The Premiere Kitchen Painting Co. grew out of that established finishing business, bringing commercial grade spray finishing into people's kitchens.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Haverhill and cover Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas, including Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Saffron Walden, Cambridge, Clare, Lavenham, Great Dunmow, Bishop's Stortford and Ely. If you are not sure whether you are in range, just ask.

How much does a kitchen transformation cost?

A kitchen respray typically runs between £2,000 and £5,000, replacement doors between £2,500 and £8,000, and worktops between £850 and £4,000. The final figure depends on the size of your kitchen and which elements you include, so we survey first and then quote properly. Every quote is free and there is no obligation.

Do you charge for a survey or quote?

No. Surveys and quotes are free. We would rather come out, look at your kitchen properly and give you honest advice than guess at a price over the phone.
